Taiwan stocks fell 0.78 percent to a near one-week closing low on Thursday, with technology firms including TSMC leading, first on concerns a strong earthquake might affect output and then on worries about demand. TSMC, the world's No 1 contract chip maker, and smaller rival UMC, slipped 1.33 percent and 0.63 percent, respectively, helping pull the electronics sub-index down 0.63 percent.
