Thai stocks eked out small gains on Monday, recouping earlier losses caused by a rise in inflation and expectations of interest rate increases, but most other Southeast Asian markets extended losing streaks. Thai consumer prices rose 4.1 percent in January from a year before, and most economists expect an interest rate rise in the third quarter of this year when price pressures are expected to accelerate along with economic growth.
