Dollar slides versus yen
The dollar fell against the yen on Wednesday as concerns about US corporate earnings and a volatile Wall Street kept risk appetite low and boosted the safe-haven appeal of the Japanese currency. US stocks seesawed as investors weighed news of possible government aid for some life insurers against the prospect of more poor corporate earnings.
