Jakarta shares soar
Indonesian shares closed 1.10 percent higher on Monday, spurred by gains in other Asian markets and a stronger rupiah, dealers said. The Jakarta Composite Index rose 16.28 points to 1,516.64 in moderate volume. "Healthy inflows kept the main index on its upward trend despite profit taking by local institutional funds," a trader told Dow Jones Newswires.
