Stocks are a share of the ownership of a company. If the company does well, or even if everyone thinks the company is going to do well, the price of the stock goes up. In addition, many companies give a little dividend payment each year to the stockholders, which provides extra value.

South Korean treasury bonds fall after auction

South Korean government bond prices fell on Monday, with most investors grappling with major auctions while awaiting the central banks rate-setting meeting late this week. The yield on 5-year treasury bonds rose 4 basis points to 4.61 percent while March treasury bond futures retreated 2 ticks to 111.87.
