A rally in commodity and financial stocks led Britains FTSE 100 to close 1.1 percent higher on Friday, as firmer oil prices and hopes of a recovery in the US banking sector steadied investors nerves. The blue chip index ended 41.62 points higher at 3,753.68, finishing the week up 6.3 percent, although it is still down over 15 percent this year.
