New Zealand share prices closed 1.03 percent higher Thursday following gains on Wall Street, dealers said. The benchmark NZX-50 index rose 26.88 points to 2,633.21 on turnover worth 64 million New Zealand dollars (34.7 million US). The session was "solid but pretty quiet" in light volumes, ASB Securities broker Stephen Wright told Dow Jones Newswires.
