Asian currencies were mixed against the US dollar last week as disappointing news from the US was balanced by local conditions. JAPANESE YEN: The yen rose to its highest level against the dollar in more than three weeks as the US unit was hit by fresh jitters over the health of major US automakers, dealers said.
