Chilean consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in March, their first rise in five months, and the trade surplus nearly tripled from February though sank versus a year earlier, data showed on Tuesday. On an annual basis, inflation for the 12 months through March slowed to 5 percent from 5.5 percent for the year through February, reinforcing expectations for the central bank on Thursday to cut interest rates.
