Chinese main stock index climbed to a fresh seven-month high on Thursday, led by insurers and property shares, as strong overseas stock markets encouraged investors to bet on a Chinese economic recovery. The Shanghai Composite Index, which rose 1.47 percent on Wednesday, ended Thursday up 0.72 percent at 2,425.291 points in very heavy trade, after hitting a high of 2,450.003.
