IMF asks Bangladesh to reduce interest rate on loan

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Thursday that bank loan interest rates in Bangladesh were too high and that they should be lowered to boost the economy. "To boost the exports and other economic activities, the central bank should take steps to lower the interest rate," said Masato Miyazaki, advisor in the Asia and Pacific Department of the IMF.
