Interbank money markets gave mixed signals on Tuesday on bank funding, as the nominal cost of bank-to-bank borrowing fell again but some closely watched premia for those funds over expected policy rates widened. Theres abundant liquidity for banks to access thanks to huge central bank injections and general improvement in conditions since September, but banks still face considerable financial and economic challenges.
