Mexican stocks surged on Friday, boosted by reassuring earnings reports and data in the United States despite news a deadly flu strain never seen before has broken out in Mexico. Gains in stocks came even as the World Health Organisation warned of a deadly flu virus that has killed as many as 60 people in Mexico, raising fears the infection is spreading across North America.
