Singapore shares closed 0.13 percent higher on Wednesday, with gains capped by lingering concerns over the economic outlook, dealers said. The blue chip Straits Times Index (STI) rose 2.27 points to 1,702.26 on volume of 822 million shares worth 755 million Singapore dollars (496 million US). Gainers edged losers 196 to 174, with 835 issues unchanged.
