Singapore shares closed 1.50 percent higher on Monday, lifted by gains in other regional stock markets. The blue chip Straits Times Index advanced 27.11 points to 1,847.98 on volume of 1.98 billion shares worth 1.53 billion Singapore dollars (1.02 billion US). Gainers led losers 368 to 142, with 683 issues unchanged.
