Malaysian shares closed down 0.4 percent on Tuesday on profit-taking and ahead of results from three by-elections seen as a referendum on support for the countrys new prime minister, dealers said. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index dropped 3.93 points to 919.84 with a turnover of 803.82 million shares worth 1.21 billion ringgit (338 million dollars).
