Singapore shares slid 2.47 percent Tuesday as investors booked some profits after recent gains, dealers said. The blue chip Straits Times Index (STI) closed 45.59 points lower at 1,802.39 on volume of 1.22 billion shares worth 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (713 million US). Losers outnumbered gainers 297 to 141, with 745 issues unchanged.
