Taiwan stocks ended 0.09 percent higher on Tuesday, helped by gains in financial shares such as Cathay Financial on hopes that local banks could set up branches in China in the second half of this year. The main TAIEX share index finished up 4.79 points at 5,210.84, bouncing back after logging its worst single-day drop in 2-1/2-months a day earlier.
